Wenersborg Newspaper Ad

An ad placed in the Wenersborg newspaper by Johannes Josefsson Thorin promoting the opening of his new school in Örby, Sweden.

“With the assistance of good teachers, the undersigned is opening a school, where will be taught language, mathematics, penmanship, trade geography, bookkeeping, and the basics of drafting/construction…
“The teaching begins next August and continues for 20 weeks with approximately 36 teaching hours in a week. Every term will have an exit interview/test [confirm this]. Tuition is 60 crowns [confirm] for every course. Cheap and [reliable] housing. [There may be the option] to make a cheaper price for those who want it. [Reservation] for entrance in school needs to happen before the 10th of next July. Written questions/inquiries will be answered as they come. Through aligning myself in contract with “hadlande och industriidkare” I will seek to hold places for those whom from the school “afgå” with grades. The school’s [inspector] are: “Kontraktsprosten” Mr. A. H. Block and [secretary] Mr. Albert Evers, Örby.
“Örby, adress Kinna, in May 1887.
“Observe! Örby is approximately 3/8th of a mile (10 km = mile) from the Kinna station.
